Alex Low
Director
Now based in Orange, Alex grew up on a mixed farming property near West Wyalong NSW. Alex holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics at the University of Sydney and has over 10 years’ experience in global agricultural commodities markets. Prior to founding Chester, Alex developed containerised grain markets for Vivcourt Commodities and traded commodities at Sortino Partners and Tibra Capital.
Richard Black
Director
Richard grew up on a wool & beef property near Inverell in northern NSW. He has 15 years of experience in finance & commodity markets, having worked for Macquarie Bank, Noble, OLAM, & Quadra. During this time he also spent time in North & South America, SE Asia, Europe, & Russia. Prior to Chester, he had been predominantly trading grain for the domestic market around some strategic grain assets in Victoria. In 2017, he moved back to family near Lismore in the Northern Rivers of NSW.
Zac Webster
Export operations
Zac is from a mixed farming operation in Cowra, NSW and attended school in Sydney. He then worked as a contract harvester in America & Canada before returning to Australia to commence a Bachelor of Agribusiness at Marcus Oldham College in 2018. He completed his final year whilst working on the family farm before joining Chester Commodities in October 2020. Zac manages export logistics and continues to build his knowledge of grain markets.
Jules Dewar
Export Operations
Jules grew up in North West NSW on a cropping & cattle property & Is now based in Toowoomba QLD. She has had a long career working for rural-based companies in NSW & QLD, as well as a 12-month working holiday in the UK and USA. Prior to Chester, she worked for 10 years in a Customer Service & Logistics role for a trading company in Brisbane.
George Brownlow
Domestic Operations
George grew up on a property west of Orange before moving away for school and university. After completing a Bachelor of Business at the University of Newcastle in 2019, George spent time with Mainfreight in Sydney working in global supply chain logistics. George recently moved back to his hometown to join Chester Commodities to manage domestic logistics.
Meg Richardson
Export Logistics
Meg is from the Gold Coast Hinterland, attending school in Brisbane. In 2021, she completed a Bachelor of Agribusiness and Agricultural Science at the University of Queensland Gatton Campus. Throughout her studies Meg had the opportunity work with companies such as Stanbroke, and logistics work at DIT AgTech in Townsville. Meg made the move to Orange in March and now assists in export logistics.
Jo Gilshenan
Finance
Jo is a chartered accountant who grew up on a property in Central West NSW. After completing her studies and gaining valuable experience in business services she spent several years working in London in a variety of finance roles. Since returning home in 2011, has focused on roles within the agricultural sector where she is able to combine the two interests. Jo joined Chester Commodities in October 2021.
